Milebrook House is a family run 3 star, country house hotel and 2 AA rosette restaurant situated on the river in the heart of the Marches amidst the typical wooded rolling hills in the beautiful Teme valley.
We enjoy the ultimate borderland location, situated 2 miles
from the picturesque market town of Knighton in
Powys and 12 miles from the busy market
town of Ludlow in Shropshire with its mediaeval castle, beautiful architecture and famous
market.
Across the river are the Shropshire hills which have been designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty", a mile or so from the Herefordshire border, famous for its black and white villages, cider and Hereford beef.
Milebrook House was once the home of Sir Wilfred Thesiger the famous writer and explorer.
Our hotel's local town (2 miles), Knighton - Tref-y-Clawdd - is the only town on Offa's Dyke. Offa's Dyke
footpath roughly follows the Welsh & English border,
it stretches some 170 miles from Chepstow to
Prestatyn.
Glyndwr's Way begins at the clock tower in the centre of the town, it's no wonder Knighton is a mecca for walkers and ramblers.
Milebrook House Hotel is also the perfect place to stay for birdwatchers, cycling holidays or for both the amateur and professional photographer with fantastic scenery and wildlife all around.
Knighton is on the Heart of Wales line, going through the most beautiful scenery, for those who wish to arrive by train we can arrange transport to the hotel, just ask for details when you book. It is also possible to travel by bus to Ludlow, as the bus will stop on request outside the hotel.
