Three acres of gardens surround Milebrook House. The productive kitchen garden and herb garden
provides many of the vegetables served in the restaurant. We have an abundance of fruit trees
including, redcurrants, blackcurrants, gooseberries, damsons, apples and pears which are used
seasonally on our menu. Our tunnels provide some lovely early growing vegetables including asparagus
and rocket. To the west of the house we have a large croquet lawn, with table tennis, an ideal way
to spend an afternoon or summers evening. The views from the lawn are outstanding, looking across the
river to the Shropshire hills. The lawn is surrounded by rhododendrons, azaleas
and many exotic trees.
To the east is the terrace looking over our herbaceous borders. A gazebo and various secluded corners of the garden are perfect for relaxing with a book or a glass of wine. Beyond this is the paddock which has been planted with over 600 native trees. The paddock also has a wildlife pond, with great crested newts, dragonflies and regular visiting kingfishers and herons. A path leads to the river Teme, with views once again to the Shropshire hills, a fantastic place to see many birds including dippers, kingfishers, herons, red kites and buzzards.
